It does start out earlier - the kid is only about 9,
10, maybe 11, when it starts, (I don't remember, but
his mother lied about his age, and he's quite bright
and has skipped a year of school, so he's a couple of
years ahead in school, wondering why he's the only kid
in his class who hasn't reached puberty); his sister
gives him her albums (including blue) as she's
leaving. Then a few years go by, and now he's 15 and
touring with the band. It does begin before the
release of Blue, but I like the explanation (who was
it said that?) about the possibility of the different
classic albums the kid is flipping through kind of
being symbolic of the passage of time.
