I made the mistake of signing up for a subscription for Flare magazine, which is Canada's magazine for 30-somethings or thereabouts. It was a moment of temporary insanity, where I succumbed to an offer to get a WHOLE BUNCH of magazine subscriptions for ONE LOW LOW PRICE. This one was paid for ages ago and the subscription doesn't expire until the year 2003 at which point, I will be WELL BEYOND its targeted demographic, but will continue to receive monthly reminders that my thighs are too large, and that I should be spending thousands of dollars on dresses and shoes and so on, as well as the nauseating perfume samples they insist on putting in these things. What was my point? Oh yeah... There's a one page articlet (too tiny to be a full article) called "Planet Flare - Canada's Sexpots in History." Under the 60's/70's era, is this short blurb, along with a photo of Joni in the wheatfield/bangs era: "Joni Mitchell: She's brash, brilliant, smokes like a trooper and is rumoured to be the inspiration behind at least one Led Zeppelin song." There you have it. Joni in a nutshell. In case you were wondering... Get your free @yahoo.ca address at http://mail.yahoo.ca
