I'm slow to report - only because we stayed up way late and I had to be back
to the grind early this morning! Marian, her sister Jennifer and her GUITAR
arrived at my place around six and then we moseyed over to Les Deux to meet
up with the Dulsons, Rick, Brad and Clark. Dinners at Les Deux always last
at least 3 hours, even thought it seems as if no time has passed. We were
given a beautiful table and the food was indescribably delicious as usual.
We noticed a new snapshot put up by the main bar of a side view of Joni and
Michelle Lamy looking just over the top joyful. I'm so sorry that Steve and
Michelle couldn't join us back at my place afterward (it was already 11 p.m.
and they had a long ride home). Marian was almost ready to drop when we
arrived but once she got out the guitar she instantly got a second (or
third) wind. Rick Brad and Clark were open-mouthed at the beauty of her
performances of a wide spectrum of Joni, Jonatha and even some Richard
Farina (Steve ;-) Jennifer is also very talented on guitar with a gorgeous
voice and she and Marian did a few unbelievably beautiful duets together.
Our Clark played us a few of his beautiful original songs, too, and I wish I
would have had a professional set-up to record the event. Rick kept a
setlist which will give you an idea of the incredible music we heard and I
am waiting impatiently, er looking forward, to his report ;-D I took a few
photos and will post a link to them in a few days.
Thanks to Marian for being SUCH a trouper to get off an eleven hour flight
and come straight out to meet the LA jmdlers. She also brought a LOAD of
assorted European chocolates for us to devour - ummmmm ;-)
