Hey! Remember Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs? They purchased the rights to
make premium LPs, right? Nautilus did the same thing. I have Nautilus, 1/2
speed mastered versions of "Rumours" and "Court and Spark". I know from
previous posts that you're an audiophile, so, yeah Rnady, you want this.
Only thing is, "Court and Spark" is not a high end recording. I mean, it's
the opposite of a high end recording. Remember? She couldn't get _enough_
overdubs, enough second instruments. Everything sounds like a board, if ya
know what I mean. I mean mid-fi. Surffice it to say, the you'll hear a
couple of glaring tape edits REAL WELL with the Nautilus 1/2 speed mastered
version! Simon has it too. You're late to the game, RR. Snap it up!!
<grin>
(Now, if we could just get a 1/2 speed version of "For the Roses", we would
HAVE something.)
Other audiophile delights in Joni's catalog:
I think it was DCC who made "Wild Things Run Fast" on gold CD. Haven't
heard it. Love the album but my Geffen LP is superb anyway, so I never took
the plunge.
DCC put out a gold verion of "Blue" which was mastered with tube amps. The
places where Joni overloads her mic (and left it IN!! Sheesh!!) are easier
to take with this version, mastered by Steve Hoffman. Recommended.

RR, the audiophile asked,
While clicking on various links I've saved up in the past year I came upon
this site http://www.elusivedisc.com where if you do a search on Joni
Mitchell you are led to a page that offers a "mint used 1/2 speed Nautilus"
vinyl copy of C&S for the price of $125US. Does anyone know what this is?
