Joni was doing a post C&S/Miles of Ailses performance at Detroit's Fischer Hall in I think 1975, She Introduced Big yellow Taxi with a story on when she left Detroit in the 60's Dutch Elm disease was killing all the American Elm trees that lined pretty much all of the streets. This teared me up because one of my strange hobbies was growing trees from seeds and nuts in recycled Baskin & Robbins ice Cream containers. Joni was right in BYT, Detroit developers would clearcut whole forests to make it easier to plat out their ticky tacky houses in subdivions titled like "Farmington Woods". This last weekend I was primary Hugger to my Amelia 1-1-99 down and out with PINK EYE/ Virus during a long nap I did get outside to wash the forty windows in my house the only thing that got me thru it was David Lahm's MJT / JM playing on the Boom Box brought outdoors. Digging around in the Pat Metheny box at the local used CD store I discovered "Bright Size Life" with Jaco Pastorius on bass and Bob Moses on drums recorded in 76 it plays pretty nice with Hejira and DJRD. Holy Lahminations didn't anybody bring a camcorder to Judy's place or for Marian's visit to L.A.
