deepest darkest africa

well, actually not quite - south africa really which is probably a bit more
"civilised" than the rest of africa ("civilised" being used here as relative
to western standards that is).

which means that we have an interesting mix of old-fashioned african
barbarism, and new fangled western barbarism (strange - people dont really
change, just methods - please excuse me - im in a very cynical mood
today........)

we dont really have any virgins thrown into volcanoes. tho the advent of
aids has meant that virgins are coming back onto the market, volcanoes are
in short supply. ; )

i also have a question. i recently picked up my first ever laurie anderson
cd - "strange angels" and absolutely love it!! (AND it even has a couple of
south african musicians playing on it!!) does anyone have any recomendations
as to any other albums by her? her albums are not generally available here,
which means special ordering or internet shopping without being able to
listen beforehand, so id appreciate a little guidance on this.

thanks

ron

ps - i think i omitted a subject / njc tag on my previous posting - sorry!!
