Debra,
My general take on it is that it's hard to get permission for anything from
a person who doesn't answer her telephone. The Cheftians said that they
chased Joni for about 2 years trying to get permission to do "Magdelene
Laundries". Not that she's hostile towards the Chieftans, either. Why
don't interviews ask THAT question? "Ms. Mitchell, why do you drag your
feet so when approached for interviews, and projects that involve
collaboration?"

his manager said that Richard would like to perform some Joni songs, but
there's a problem with getting permission from Joni. He didn't specify what
type of problem and it seems strange considering how many people have
recorded
her songs, but maybe performing them live is more complicated. >>
