I was thinking more about LIS and the line "I can't seem to make it with you socially" and recalled the line "He makes friends easy, he's not like me, I watch for judgment anxiously" from Car On The Hill and how these two lines express, IMHO, a very similar sentiment. It seems to me that Joni is merely acknowledging the differences between herself and her lover.
