'For the warrior slain in battle
From an arrow driven deep inside you long ago'

As I said, this song touches things that are very close to my heart.
It moves me very deeply. I hope she writes more. I love the songs on
'Red Dirt Girl'.

By all means, get 'Wrecking Ball'. It's a truly fine record.

I was an admirer of Emmylou for years but I too didn't really connect
with her deeply until 'Wrecking Ball'. I think Lanois tapped into her
creative juices in a way that no-one else ever has save maybe Gram
Parsons. While I was trying to find the name of the bass player on
this tour I came across an article where she said that with 'Red Dirt
Girl' she wanted to build on the foundation that Lanois had made for
her but she didn't wanted it to be 'Son of Wrecking Ball'. I think
she succeeded beautifully. The production still has that feeling to
it but it isn't a clone of the previous record. And the songs she
wrote are gorgeous! I'm definitely a complete convert now!
