Hello listers! Wanted to tell everyone what a great time I had in Chicago meeting up with Diane and Jody. We had a superb dinner at this Italian joint where the "head waiter" was miffed at us as we kept seats open just in case other listers made it at the last minute. Diane brought her wonderful Hejira drawing and I got an extra one for the raffle! Am planning on having mine nicely framed it is that beautiful of a drawing. Had an excellent time talking with Diane as we are in the same business, education. She is my hero, though, as she works with middle schoolers. I would NEVER do that! Jody was the queen of hospitality and had everything planned for us so all Nate and I had to do was enjoy. That was such a nice feeling, not having to worry about any of the arrangements! She was lots of fun, even though she appologized for being tired. Heck, I'll take a tired Jody over no Jody any day! Can't wait to catch up with her again in Topsfield after she has had some rest. Didn't get the chance to do any playing or singing as I had no guitar. We were able to do lots of sharing which is something that never seems to be a problem with the folks here. Witty conversation and no uncomfortable periods of silence. Hope to get back to the lovely city of Chicago soon and if not there then will try to make it to Mary's gathering in October.
