Bud Cort had a small part as Boon, the nerdish orderly. His most
memorable scene is the one in which he gives Captain Burns (Robert
Duvall) the wrong syringe. Burns, discovering the patient is already
dead, tells Boon that it's his fault and he's killed him with his
incompetence. Trapper John (Elliot Gould, long before I damned his
career), sees Boon weeping, takes Burns in a supply closet and sucker
punches him.

I had the pleasure of seeing Bud Cort in a song and dance routine in San
Francisco in the early 80s. I seem to recall that Bud was living with
Groucho Marx during the last years of Groucho's life.

I love to imitate Vivian Pickles when she declares, "I suppose you think
that's very funny Harold." BTW, "Harold & Maude" was on television last
night.

Happy Birthday (July 9th) Rev. Vince!
