<<And finally, Has Joni ever recorded songs that she has not written either words or
lyrics to (covers) besides the Both Sides Now album? One of my friends mentioned that
she did not write Woodstock...is this true?>>
No, Stephanie...it's not true and you have my permission to slap your friend silly!
Joni did in fact pen "Woodstock", while she was in the Hotel waiting to be on Dick
Cavett while "the boys" went to the festival.
Woodstock is her 2nd most covered song after Both Sides Now.
Now, as far as Joni doing covers:
Twisted from C&S
Centerpiece from HOSL
Why Do Fools Fall In Love from S&L
You're So Square, Baby I Don't Care from WTRF
How Do You Stop from TI
My Best to You from TTT
Then on the fringes, you have:
A Bird That Whistles from CMIARS, lyrics & music adapted from Corrina, Corrina;
Cool Water from CMIARS, she tweaked the lyric ever so slightly
As per your question, these are the ones from ALBUMS. There are also others that she
performed live, but that's another category altogether...
Sadly, she's not able to blame anybody else for "Dancin' Clown"! ;~)
