The invite to the chair is always seen as a bonus because it's more camera time
and an opportunity to say the name of the album again, talk about tour dates,
etc. Generally, artist don't get asked to sit unless the host or producer
thinks they have something to say worth hearing or if they are fans and want to
help the artist out more.
With so few network opportunities for music, the extra :30 or minute in the
chair is a big deal in terms of relative time.
