Absolutely ... Joni's speaking voice is mesmerizing.
It walks an ethereal tightrope stretched between the
boundaries of speaking and singing. The lilt and
phrasing of her speech makes me think that living and
working with her must be something akin to inhabiting
a real-life musical ... at any moment you'd expect her
to break into song. Every unfinished thought a break
... every afterthought a coda ... there's no doubt
that Joni Mithcell is one of the great "musical"
speakers.
