<< Have you ever picked up "Come Together - America Salutes The Beatles?"
It's
a really great compilation by some of the best country artists around.>>
Hadn't heard that one, Kakki...but I'll check it out, covers nut that I am!
Speaking of which, I forgot to mention another one of my faves, that satanic
Earth, Wind, and Fire's take on "Got To Get You Into My Life", the ONLY
worthwhile track on that Peter Frampton/Bee Gees debacle.
<< NP: Mingus Dynasty - Goodbye Pork Pie Hat from Covers Vol. 20. Thank you
so much again Bob - this is really fine and it's wonderful to have a small
collection from Mr. Mingus himself! >>
You're welcome, it's very much my pleasure! But Mingus himself isn't playing
here, this is also a posthumous release from 1979. The band, which is state
of the art, is as follows:
John Handy, alto sax
Joe Farrell, tenor sax
Jimmy Owens, trumpet/flugelhorn
Jimmy Knepper, trombone
Don Pullen, piano
Dannie Richmond, drums
The great Charlie Haden fills the enormous shoes of Mr. Mingus
Bob
NP: Keb' Mo', "BYT", thanks Leslie!!
