hi there. name's wild koba, and i'm new to y'all. just thought i'd pop in to ask a
quick question.
i first discovered joni on july 1, 1999. as some of you may recall, this was the night
of the joni's jazz tribute in central park. i was really there to go see vernon reid,
who is more or less my guitar hero. i was totally blown away (specifically, toshi
reagon absolutely LEVELED me) and have since made it a point to discover joni albums
on my own. i think thus far, i'm digging the "jazz joni" a bit more than the "other
kinds of joni."
anyhow, what i'd like to know is if anyone here happens to have in their possession a
copy of tapes or discs from that night. i spoke to vernon not long afterwards, and he
said there WAS something out there, and i've been curious ever since. should someone
here have it (or know how i could find it), i would thank you, spank you, love you,
and name my first children in your honor. slightly more seriously, i would really like
to know how to come across this. i don't have much to offer in terms of trading, but
perhaps we can come to some sort of agreement.

ps- any other vernon reid fans in the nyc area may be tempted to go check out living
colour, who will be playing on the very stage where the "jazz" tribute was held. this
is tomorrow, august 5th, in the afternoon, i believe.
