Our standard is (I think!) 3 weeks, or 15 days. My company give us 18 days,
but it's compulsory to use three of those between Xmas and New Year, when
the offices are closed, so it's still effectively 15. But since I've been
there over 5 years (horrors!) I now get 4 weeks, or 23 days. We also get 10
days of special leave, which includes sick leave, bereavement leave, etc.
Any more than 3 in a row requires a doctor's certificate except under
special circumstances. There is unpaid parental leave, but I'm not sure
what the allowable time period is.
