crosby once said that there's always some joni song that someday will make you cry.
i've cried over lots of joni's songs but that was many years ago when i had no love in
my life and the cruel and sad search for love that in my belief is something joni
talks about a lot always broke my heart. then years passed and now i'm celebrating 8
sweet years with the man i love but that's off the issue. anyway just when i thought
it's goodbie tears over a joni song - it happened. and boy - was i crying the blood
out of my eyes. it happened on love puts on a new face. i just love this song. from
the first magical chord of her guitar to the end of it it's just a wonderfull piece of
art. i think joni realy knows how to put a dialog between 2 people in a song. did'nt
she do a great "job" on the last time i saw richard? was'nt it one of her
heartbreaking songs?
i've heard love puts on a new face many times - but the time it got the rain in my
eyes showring down my face was a very speciel one for me. believe it or not - i was
weeping for joni, or to put in other words - the joni that's being presented in this
song. a woman who's nearly in her "last chance texaco" state, falling in love with a
man that takes off her masks and treats her not like a magdalane but like an old time
friend from the old town in the familiar landscape of their childhood. making love by
the lake and the moon, writing love letters to eachother, missing eachother, sharing
eachothers fears and dreams, so hopefull yet so hopelessnes. no matter what i'll write
here - it's not simple for me to explain why i was crying but if that's the women who
claims she realy does'nt know love at all - then what can i say? " i long for our next
embrace" is what's love all about.
i hope some of you will share some of your tears over joni's songs with us.
nuriel from israel (folks, this place is becoming the leading facist land in the
western world. this crazy leader of us ariel sharon has decided to set this zone on
fire and transfer all the plastiniens out to nowhere. we're heading towards a war -
and the people of israel are so brain washed and racist that i'm ashamed to be a
member of israel. no matter what you hear about the islamic bombs and attacks - you've
got no idea what israelis are doing to them. they live like rats on the street. they
got no money, no food, no water, nothing at all. "we" feel so "strong" cause "we" have
the "israeli army" - that "we"'re not afraid of no one - and it's all sliding in one
direction - a bloodbath that may never end. do you think that the israeli care? the
hell they do. they're too busy trying to buy black market tickets to the red hot
cheely peppers's show. would that group have appeared at south africa back then? i
guess they would have. and i do'nt give a fuck about what dylan say!
s to joni. this man is a member of one of the most racict cults in the "jewish world"
and performs his "peace" songs on their bar-mitzva's. maybe he's too stoned to notice
what's r e a l y going on).
nuriel.
