>Hi Marcel...can I ask a couple of follow up questions....

>(Gramsci) promoted the idea that all viewpoints opposed to his must
>(not could or should ) be censored from the media and the public.
>That those who oppose his views should be prevented from achieving
>any equal footing in the public arena simply because his views were
>best.

Do you possibly have any references for this? Could you send them to
me please. It doesnt't match anything I've ever read on him so far.

>His principals IMHO are the underlying tenet of the media in this
>country. Obscure distract from and or ignore the things you
>philosophically disagree with. Interesting that you found him.

I'm not sure how to read this. I am trying to visualise where you are
coming from on this. Could you explain a bit. Are you saying for
example that all of those working in the media in France are as you
put it earlier ' unreconsturcted Trotskyists? Or those businesses
which control the media, base their philosophies on Gramsci's ideas?

>I certainly agree with the gist of what you said about common sense
>with respect to marriage. Its really true. "Love" was not the
>catalyst throughout history.Property and lineage was. Your country
>had a huge impact on the western world in this regard. marcel

Do you mean Scotland? I agree that British writers in the 17th/ 18th
century did have a big impact on western thinking but not in
isolation. Common ownership of property in Scotland and the Clan
system was in stark contrast to the rest of Britain. You didn't say
what you thought about 'common sense' as an idea. In the UK ,it has
been used a lot of late to promote both Conservative and Labour
ideology. What would you say
