It truly was an incredible lot of talent, even if they were intentionally striving to appeal to commercial means - they did it with such success! The roster of talent was pretty amazing; Goffin/King, Paul Simon, Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, Bacharach/David, Doc Pomus, Lieber/Stoller, etc. And Kakki, I'm sure you know that Becker/Fagen attempted to be Brill Building writers, but nobody knew what to make of their angular, inside-out songs, so they were "forced" to record them on their own. Thank the gods for that! :~) (New SD release delayed to June, and a TOUR in '03 as well!!)
