I do think this refers to a man, as a
peacock who
"parades" is spreading his feathers; being
proud
and showing
off, in a way. I like the idea of
the lion being
a person who is a Leo. I think you
are on to
something here! The lion reference
also goes
along with the peacock, in that the
peacock is
"afraid" and the lion is "holding
back" from
being assertive; standing up for
himself.
Also--if this
person is in a depressed mood,
maybe he is
just "house-bound"--not in a hospital
setting--and
then could be "under the thumb of
"his"
maid"--such as, getting in her way.
Maybe the
dragon shining could be his "dark side"
coming out of
hiding, (or possibly
Satan) and
becoming aware of what his real values
are.
