SchemaMapping with a mapping of your schema to (Schema) null. Have you
tried that?

Will do that today. This is exactly what I need for one product of mine.

That makes sense. Of course, these specific things can always be
implemented with writable views, as well.

Yes, I think so. But MySQL, for instance, has a good long
list<http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/create-view.html>of things you
cannot do with views, but can do with regular tables. Also as
I know views even simple ones come with some small performance penalty.

About prefix mapping - I see now. But I think it was originated only from
the limitations of shared hosting providers to allow maximum X mysql
databases per account, not from the convenience of use.

About dreams about jooq - it was a joke, but to be serious, today Zuckerberg
came to me in my dream. Or rather I came to him applying for a job in
Facebook (don't know which one though). And he told me to call him back
after presentation. Don't know which one again, though... Next time I see
him I will try to persuade him to abandon PHP in favour of Java and jooq.
Will see what good will come of it... ;)
