Hi Aaron, You would be awesome beta-testers for me! ;-)
We're considering to move to jOOQ 3.0 but we're also four weeks from the > next release. Will jOOQ 3.0 be released before that or do you suggest to > stay with 2.6.2 for this release and upgrade for the next release? > >From our side, there is no huge pressure to migrate but the new jOOQ unit > test framework is tempting :-) > I can see that you'd like that :-) Considering that you're releasing in 4 weeks, I'd be patient and migrate only later. jOOQ 3.0 includes quite a few backwards-incompatible features, which you can see here: http://www.jooq.org/doc/3.0/manual/reference/migrating-to-3.0/ Note that 3.0 is feature-complete. RC1 / RC2 / RC3 / etc. will only include fixes for - Regular bugs - "API bugs" (i.e. backwards-incompatibilities that add no value and could've been avoided) So far, I haven't heard any complaints about API changes, so chances are high that I'll release 3.0 within the next 4 weeks. Given that there will not be any new features before 3.1, you can already download 3.0-RC1 and try to assess the impact for yourself. However, do note that I'll be starting a new "daytime" job from next week onwards, so I might be having a little less time to fix "urgent" issues...
