Yes my confusion comes merely from the fact that the examples show a try-with-resources example, refactored into a JOOQ Java 6 method. Writing SQL code for my apps has always been so messy. Try with resources certainly helped with that, and if JOOQ uses it internally then that's as close to perfection as I can ask for.
