Today's PHP group meeting was attended by: Ahmad Fattah, Alaa Ibrahim, Faisal Dajani, Mamoun, Tariq Abu Zaid, and Tariq Shadid. The meeting covered many different topics, and lasted two hours.
The main topic of the meeting was the arabizer project. This project aims to provide the arab users with a single unified dictionary of web and IT related terms. There has been earlier discussions about this project, but it was decided that it is time to start some work on the project. A general scope of the project was defined, but will be refined further in later meetings. Since there was some genuine interest in starting this project, it was also decided that there will be scheduled meetings. The results of each meeting will be posted here on the mailing list for all to read and comment on. However, since we can't accept input indefinitely (we need to start somewhere), and previous attempts lead to a state of repititon (each meeting canceled the one before it), we decided to allow a period of 3 days after the publishing of the meetings results to accept input and feedback, and another week after that to discuss the input. After those 10 days, all decisions would be final and binding. No project maintainer(s) was elected. Other topics covered by the meeting were encoding problems on the web and how to address them, choice of editor and IDE for developing PHP, and some good old "غيبة و نميمة". Also, the place of meeting was changed. Instead of meeting once at view cafe and then in donuts factory, all meetings will be held in donuts factory from this point forward. I think i covered everything. If i forgot something guys, please correct me. -- Al-Faisal El-Dajani Phone: +962-7-77 799 781 P.O Box: 140056 11814 Amman, Jordan --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Jordan PHP Users Group" group.
