Hi all,
Me again.
(Sigh) The Bonny Trip was an unforgettable experience.
If I wasn't with Babatunde Okikiolu, I would probably have turned back at the
"Bonny Waterside" pier. The trip is something I don't intend to repeat in this
my lifetime until better ships are provided.
I got to see a real Naval Battleship up close, the gigantic NLNG plant, the
new trains being built, toured the NLNG Residential Area and ended up at a
notorious open-air joint called "The Ranch". I now have an experience of the
"the creeks" in the Niger Delta (which are major rivers in thier own right) and
how it feels to be riding crazily in a flying boat.
After PH, I went on to Cross Rivers State and returned to Abuja safely.
I will like to thank those who made my trip fun and went out of their way to
make me comfortable like Babatunde Okikiolu and his Madam, Cdr Patrick Nwatu
and Ayuba "Alonzo" Shedrack. I also want to appreciate all those who called
like Ikenna, Cassidy and Taju Yahaya. Sorry we couldn't meet when I returned.
It was the turn of my University friends in PH and I had to spend the time with
them.
@Taiwo and Barka: Sorry Guys! Unfortunately, I didn't/couldn't check my
mails all through the time in PH so I am just reading your emails. Una for call
me.
All in all, a memorable trip.
My next adventure: spend a week each in Ghana, Togo and Benin. Hopefully,
sometime later in the year.
stay blessed,
Adam

Subject: [Jos Commandos] Tips for handling the new crafty Social Networking
sites
Hello everyone,
There is something we must all do to keep our discussion posts nice, relevant
and clean as they have been so far. There are several "Social networking" sites
like Facebook.com, Flixster.com, Tagged.com that you need to be careful when
joining.
1. You will receive an email from a friend asking you to join
2. The registration process will involve your supplying your Yahoo/Hotmail/
MSN account name and password
3. The site will harvest all your emails in your inbox (or address book)
4. Then it will send an invitation to EVERY email it had extracted.
5. Unfortunately, our JosCommandos group will be one of the emails
6. So all 170 Commandos in this group will receive it and many will also want
to join
7. When they are joining, Step 2-6 will be repeated again
8. And so on, we will keep getting emails on the Group saying, "Adam/Taiwo/
Ajaro etc wants you to join Flixster/Facebook/ whatever"
I have seen it in other groups and IT IS ANNOYING.
So, whats is the solution?
I am not saying that you should not join. But make sure in Step 3 that you
find our Group address (JosCommandos@ yahoogroups. com) and DE-SELECT IT.
(After it harvests the list of emails, the sites will re-arrange them
alphabetically so just scroll down to JosCommandos. )
Again: PLEASE find and remove this group email from the list of emails to be
sent invitations. That way, only your friends will receive it and not all of us.
Let's see who will be the first to "mess up".
The other alternative solution will be to change the group so that each email
is "moderated". That means one of the Moderators must first read and approve
the post before the email is distributed to the rest 170 Commandos. That takes
my time and the other folks who are moderators here.
So, Abeg!
stay blessed,
Adam

PS. Meanwhile I am in Port Harcourt on a short visit to my '86 Classmates,
Ayuba Shedrack and Cdr Patrick Nwatu in Bonny Island.
