Well this is an interestg topic.
When it comes to sneaking l think its part of the Command Training. If u ask me
l think some gals were even sneaking in my time.
88 set actually had some expert sneakers eg the Sullivans - Niyi Babajide,Bello
Abba & Akin Oredoye.Bello was the worst sometimes he is gone for over 2 wks and
mostly towards the exam period surprisingly he was hardly ever caught or
purnished. How about Ini Akpan aka Trekker he got this nickname cause he
actually trekked from Kwararafa to School,Mhmd Gambo (aka Curtis Mohehe - after
the rapper Curtis Blow)seemed to 've a Visa and resident permit to Kwararafa we
usually waited 4 him in Octopus hse to give us gist on the latest
Indian/Chinese film, this he did quite well and even sang those indian songs
pretty well too.Mhmd always had fantastic stories to tell most were too gd to
be true hence the nickname.
I remember d first time l sneaked out of school (almost like the Bruce story)in
Form 3, we had just finished exams & had about a wk interval b4 vacation,
school was boring so l left for home.I told my mom that l was sick and since
the school was closing soon the clinic allowed me to come home, well l guess my
mom smelt a rat cause the next day she told me to get in the car she was takg
me back to school.Boy l almost fainted.I got into the car wondering if this was
really my mom who ought to have missed her dear son and if l shld tell her she
was about to get me expelled.Thruout the trip to school l was thinkg about my
next move so when we got to Ferin Gada l excused myself and ran the fastest
long distance race in my life.I went straight to the main gate & waited for
mummy. She finally came saw me with relief written on her face shook her head
and left. That was the last time l sneaked home.
But l had not problem with Ferin Gada and Kwararafa, with all the stories from
Mhmd one needed to see for himself.
