Dear Senior Mary Tombiri,

It was a great pleasure talking to you again today after more than 25 years.

To date I’m un-able to separate your name from the race track, indeed you
have been a model and a reference to us when it comes to track and field events
from secondary school to University all the way National level and the
Olympics. We are so proud of you. Well done.

Your commitment to Cojosa also has been remarkable. I must also say well-done
to your team for all the work that has been done to take Cojosa North America
to the level it is today. We are always proud to tell people that our presence
is across the globe.

Our Cojosa Hall of Fame (which we must organize and institute) will not be
complete without you.

Regarding the mail below, please find below summary of my thoughts:

That the major thrust of our great association are:

1. Support each other and build synergy (we are above 25,000 membership base).
It will be good to assess how much we have done in this regards for 2011

a. with emphasis on exploiting business opportunities amongst each other

b. Assisting our upcoming members with employments

c. Supporting those in genuine needs

d. Celebrating the successes of each other

e. Sure many more…..

2. Support and help the school

a. We really cannot say much about this apart from what the 1988 and 1993 set
were able to do for the school

b. Motivational steps also taken by your good self and senior Nwabueze for
awards to be given to the school from next year. This is very good and
exemplary.

c. So much more to look at from basic physical structures to academics……...

The “Intervention fund†project will not be applicable without a budgetary
estimates and I have spoken to the Commandant and he has promised to send
budgetary estimate on what will be required to fix the school.

We really cannot say much on what is required until we get this information.

To raise the necessary funds that can be used to help the school can be done in
different ways

1. By each set of graduating students

2. By each chapter

3. By each individual

4. By any other means as may be suggested

Some critical questions to have in mind are: How much can each chapter raise?
How much can each set raise…….

The desired goal is to do something for the school and this can better be
analyzed when we receive the estimates from the school.

I must say here that the set by set method was adopted and communicated without
adequate consultation across board and the action was only borne out of extreme
passion to push and kick start the process.

The intent of opening the Cojosa Accounts with First Bank was to aid
transparency and accountability and the proposed managers of the account are
the Presidents/Chair Persons of each chapter.

The accounts opened is expected to be a joint responsibility of all the
presidents/chair persons of each chapter.

Our great association is evolving and there is so much work to be done to
attain the desired platform that will enable us fully take advantage of our
strength.

There is absolute need to improve communication amongst each other to enable us
attain our desired goals.

Whilst we await the estimates/list of what is required to restore the school,
any input on how we all can build this great association will be welcomed.

It is our alma-mata and we must all take ownership and transform it to what we
want.

As always, we await your further inputs and guidance on how we can build a
cohesive association across the globe.

Thank you.

Long live Cojosa
