Great Commandos, The Cojosa UK-Irl April 2012 convention/'87 set reunion has come and gone. Keeping with general expectations the team at Cojosa UK-Irl would like to brief its members and the general Cojosa family on the event, its outcome and future expectations. The April 2012 convention was in conjunction with the great class of `87 and the London 2012 group which started over a year ago on a facebook forum. The convention was kick started with pre-convention drinks one week in advance at the popular South East London Restaurant 805 on Saturday 31st march 2012. On the convention weekend Friday 6th April 2012; We met at Nandos restaurant, Convent garden, London, and moved on to the infamous Coko bar, Embankment, London for the after party. It was a pleasant evening and we danced into the early hours of day 2 - Saturday 7th April 2012. (yes oh! Commandos have still got that groove, we did not leave Koko bar until 2am.) On the 2nd day, even though some of us grooved until the early hours of that morning we still made sure that we made it to the main event at the Reebok Sports Bar, Canary Wharf, London; we could not afford to miss out on the fun. During this convention we released our publication titled: Cojosa UK & Ireland One year on The full story (a complete and transparent account of our stewardship.) Setting all records straight, A must read; for all true lovers of progress for the Command cause, £19.99 Copies are available through COJOSA Abuja,Lagos,Port Harcourt & Akwa Ibom State Chapters. or Email [email protected] to request your copy.
A lot of networking and reuniting took place; it was just like one big family reunion. With our visitors from Nigeria and the USA joining our convention, it became an international success. The evidience of this can be seen by our classy pictures and video published on the various facebook groups and the command Jos yahoo group. With the fun reuniting and networking over, Cojosa UK-Irl team would to state the following: 1. The Cojosa UK-Irl April 2012 convention/'87 set reunion was a one off collaboration. i) As our annual family fun day in the park event takes place on the last Saturday of July, our convention weekend will henceforth coincide with this so from next year, 2013, onwards the last week of July will officially be our convention week ii) Cojosa Uk & Ireland are open to collaborations with all year groups for their various reunion during this period. 2. We are actively committed to the intervention fund scheme, as agreed by all partner chapters. We will continue to promote its growth and success in restoring Command secondary school Jos to its former glory days as the school approaches its 35th anniversary and long after. 3. We are committed to communicating, deliberating and liaising with other chapters through the Cojosa global Exco facebook group and other modes of communication. i) We will continue to use the social media to build the relevance and growth of COJOSA as an association ii) We will continue to support our members when in need in every way we can. 4. We will have executive, informal and social meetings throughout the year; but we will have our annual general meeting during our convention week. 5. To continually draw awareness, liaise and co-operate with various charitable groups and organisations that are seeking for a peaceful city of Jos. In preparing for our annual event by popular demand. We will have a general house meeting on Sunday the 20th of May 2012. We would like to remind you that our annual event `family fun day in the park' will be taking place on the 28th July 2012 at Hyde Park, London. Keep the date open to avoid missing out. On a final note we would like to thank those that took timeout to attend the event especially our visitors from outside the UK, not forgetting all the chapters that sent us goodwill messages.
