It will be recalled that quite recently, a major event occured in the history
of the family(COJOSA) while the PortHarcourt chapter is the most hit, the whole
family feels the impact of the explosion.
We withnessed the passing away of a brother, friend, motivator, initiator,a
problem solver and somebody who loves command unconditionally. Ikenna Onyekwelu
Mbanefo.
At the comendation service in Immanuel Anglican Church Onitsha, the preacher
reminded all of us present that someday, we will all have to pass through the
same road to meet with our creator. The preacher, before ending the service
posted a question which you and i need to answer on a daily basis '' ARE YOU
READY TO MEET WITH YOUR CREATOR?''
The turn out of guest from all over the country only tells the story of our
brother. Command secondary school did mould that child into a good man.
While discussions is still ongoing, as to the best way possible to fill up
the gap his passing has created, COJOSA PortHarcourt has in the mean time
decided to handle it in two ways:
1. short term intervention,
2. long term solution
The short term intervention and the long term solution will involve the whole
of the family (COJOSA worldwide).
In the short term, we will soon post a bank account into which we expect those
of us in PortHarcourt and our brothers and sisters from other chapters to
contribute to as they are led.
It is our intention to visit Ikenna's widow with whatever we are able to raise
very soon.
See this as a plea for quick response so that the visit can be soon indeed.
As events unfolds, we will keep everyone posted on the plans for the long term
solutions.
It is the resolve of the cojosa Port Harcourt chapter to immortalise our hero
IKENNA ONYEKWELU MBANEFO who refused to be silenced even in death. He is a
worthy ambasador of command secondary school jos.
This is not in anyway trying to play down the loss of any of our other members
in the past but a way of showing that everyone who is concerned about the
welfare and welbeign of others especially members of the COJOSA family, will
always be celebrated even in death.
