With all due respect, I am at a loss for words. In my days as a student of
command secondary school Jos we always looked up to our seniors. I remember the
way our teachers faces always lit up whenever our ex-commandoes came around,
how we always wanted to be like them regardless of the nigerian factor. I have
been a member of this group for a while and I have noticed something, like one
of us pointed out in his post, whenever something of great importance comes up
for discussion minor skirmishes tend to take us from the main issue till we
totally forget about it. I have on so many occasions tried to reach out to my
friends and former classmates about the need for us to come out of hiding and
contribute our cash and ideas to making COJOSA a better organisation, but every
time I do that, its like I've opened a can of worms cos everyone has one tale
or the other about how so many years after graduation a senior still expect
them to lick their feet and all, I have tried to explain that this isn't the
case as command was one phase of our different lives and now maturity has come
in. But like they say, flogging a dead horse isn't going to bring it back to
life so I'll just keep mum and continue observing because the truth is that
when people keep on bringing up the "I finished before u" card or the "I'm
older than u" card and all, it just goes to show that we have a very long way
to go as an organisation.

I think we are dragging this respect issue too long, let the house go back to
what started all the talks.
