Hello, the umlauts on the initial webpage (and other webpage based stuff in JOSM) aren't displayed properly under Windows. At least with my WinXP copy. Using Java 1.6.0_05.
For the MOTD stuff this is probably caused by the fact, that nowhere on the wiki page header UTF8 is declared.
