I would prefer to have the translations updated in the nightly build as 
well. That would reduce the need to checkin an updated jar file.
Can't you make it in a way, that failing update of the translation takes 
the compiled variant made a day before? That reduces that additional 
failure point and nevertheless gives updated translation in normal case.
