When you save the data file to disk, you can edit it with an ASCII-Editor.
When you remove the deleted mark in the data, then you get it back, but
a) It is not easy to find the correct data
b) You need to undelete all parts (i.e. nodes of a way) separately
c) You need to recreate parts like relation entries
d) I'm not sure how modified and later deleted data is handled. I would
think you get the modified part back but without the modified mark.
