Hi, Incluing the jmapviewer as svn:external seems a little strange to me. The two versions are not in synch, one single change to the jmapviewer API and you cannot compile any previous versions of JOSM without much hassle.
The problem is discussed here [1] and one guy suggests, to explicitly specify the revision number for the externals definition. This way you have to update the revision each time the jmapviewer component gets updated. On the other hand, the repository remembers, what version of jmapviewer is compatible with a certain JOSM revision.
