I'm using the scripting plugin, which allows me to stay in my comfort zone, coding in Python. I'm not sure this can be compiled into a independent plugin though. If nothing else, it can serve as a prototype, I guess.
I found some code in the utils2-plugin which seems useful too. I'll see how far I get with that. What I'm looking for at the moment is the code which creates parallel ways. So I can do that for each way member.
