1) Is there anything (any habbit-TV, caffaine,
smoking, drinking......) any paticular thing that you
possess that you cant do without?
If Jesus were to ask you today togive up that
particular thing will you be able to?)
2)Is there any particular person(friend, fly or other)
you cant live without?
Lord asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son
(ofcourse He was only testing Him)
If the Lord asks you today to sacrifice that
particular person will you be able to?
3)As a student you have this habit of going to daily
mass. Usually you do not miss mass at all.
But todayis your exam and you are quite
nervous;you feel like studying a little more; but that
means missing your daily mass-which one will you opt
for?
4)It is your prayer time ; and your non beleiver
friends have dropped in to stay with you for a few
days. Its quite embarrassing to pray in their
presence. They might call you old fashioned; what
willyou do?
5)Every month you give 10% of your earnings in tithes;
but now you have, with great difficulty; got this
opportunity for a vacation abroad, for which you have
been longing for, all these years-but it means failing
in your thithes for a few months to save up for the
vacation. Whats your choice?
6) Its late for your weekly prayer meeting and you
have to hurry up. Just then your very close friend
drops in with tickets to your favourite
movie/concert(the last show ofcourse). The friend
threatens not to speak to you at all if you do not
oblige. What then?
Dear friends the list goes on like this. Some of
these and few other choices we have to make many times
in our lives.Each time we make a choice for Jesus in
such situations we may have to lose something. Are we
ready?
I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD AND YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER
GODS THAN ME.
these are still very minute things.
Seeing to the political side of India today there
might also come a time when at gun points we will be
asked if we belong to our Lord.
Are we ready to follow Jesus upto the end; even to the
mount of calvary? Admist persecutions will we still
be able to proclaim that JESUS is our Lord. Beleive
me friends its going to be very difficult when the
time actually comes.
So let us ask the Lord to prepare us; his warriors;
for those days of trial.
