Thanx a ton Cuckoo for your awe-inspiring sharing on leadership. I would like to share with you one of my experiences with a JY leader.
I recall reading one of Ken Blanchard's books where he says ".create raving fans, not just satisfied customers, Raving fans will go and brag about u to everyone they meet.."Here is one such person who has made such an impact on my life. I first had an encounter with him during my full timership training. All through the training I noticed so many leadership traits in this person. For instance, once after lunch we were at the sink washing our hands and there was a bit of hair etc clogging the sink, many people came washed their hands and mouths, spat in the sink and went on with life but when this person came he first removed the hairs, cleaned the sink and then continued. Another time, when I went into his room I saw him sitting half draped in a mosquito net! On closer look I saw he was mending the holes in the net. I am talking about our Emmaus Babychayan(universal animator of JY!) One day babychayan came to our Jy house in Delhi. The house was in total mayhem (that's the state of the house usually!:). He cleaned the whole house, there were a few chairs that had become incapacitated due to missing screws and bolts.Babychayan repaired all that. The fan leaves and ceilings had cobwebs that looked like fishermens nets! They were all cleaned up. By evening when I returned after work I was absolutely wonderstruck! I speculated in disbelief " aye! have I entered the wrong house by mistake!" (I literally climbed down the stairs once again just to make sure I came to the second floor!!! many others also were dazzled!) The house was spick and span. The sinks, toilets and marble flooring had become sparkling white! (a color I never even knew existed in them!!) Whenever I have sat to share with Babychayan, I've always felt an aura of grace surrounding me. He has never condemned me, always seen the good in me. Today what I am, I owe a lot of it to the tips I picked up from Babychayan. During our training, I shared with him that I couldn't get along well with my sister, Betty (I've always felt she is very uncivilized, brazen and stupid, moreover she's more capable than me!) After my few encounters with babychayan, I started appreciating my sister. (and many others) Today Betty is my best friend, we share a beautiful bro sis relationship. At home I try to practice Babychayans style of leadership. I haven't been successful all the time, but I have become better and better with every try. One of my happiest moments this year was during this years fulltimership training when I heard my sister Betty's testimony .she was asked what motivated her to join the training, she said." my eldest brother Josun has been my greatest motivation, I have seen a whole world of difference in him after his training".I'm still in cloud nine hahahahaaa Love and prayers in Jesus, Josun Jose/New Delhi ----- Original Message ----- From: Cuckoo Susan James <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, December 23, 2001 11:54 PM Subject: [JOYnet] Leadership! > Dear net people, > > Leadership is the greatest challenge all of us face in the JY community. > Recently, a JY shared his experiences with me.
