What is the importance of these last verses (Gospel according to St. Mark) which
emanated from JESUS before HIS death in the cross in the life of a Christian?
SACRED SCRIPTURE exhort us to imitate CHRIST. (1Cor. 11:1, Eph. 5:1.)
In the Human life, we also have to face many situations, conditions, circumstance
which may be of great sorrow, disdains, afflictions, denial, sufferings, even
spiritual dryness, many a time we can�t get the answers, reasons with human intellect.
Some may start grumbling/ starts protesting against GOOD LORD / renounce their faith /
Starts suspecting the ETERNAL LOVE and POWER of GOD / fall into bad habits,
addictions, erroneous relationships etc
But the GOOD LORD teaches us to ASK QUESTIONS � �QUESTION WITH FAITH� (Mk. 15:34, Lk.
1:34) to OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN �HIMSELF�.
The LORD says, � CALL TO ME, AND I WILL ANSWER YOU: I WILL TELL YOU WONDERFUL AND
MARVELLOUS (GREAT AND MIGHTY) THINGS THAT YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT.� Jer. 33:3.
LORD WILL BE VERY GRACIOUS UNTO THEE AT THE VOICE OF THY CRY;
WHEN HE SHALL HEAR IT, HE WILL ANSWER THEE.
AND THOUGH THE LORD GIVE YOU THE BREAD OF ADVERSITY, AND THE WATER OF AFFLICTION, YET
SHALL NOT THY TEACHER (Mt. 23:8-10) BE REMOVED INTO A CORNER ANY MORE, BUT THINE EYES
SHALL SEE THY TEACHER.
AND THINE EARS SHALL HEAR A WORD BEHIND THEE, SAYING,
THIS IS THE WAY, WALK YE IN IT WHEN YE TURN TO THE RIGHT HAND, AND WHEN YE TURN TO THE
LEFT. Is. 30:19-21.
THE LORD SAYS: � BEFORE THEY CALL, I WILL ANSWER;
AND WHILE THEY ARE YET SPEAKING (PRAYING), I WILL HEAR.� Is. 65:24.
What is the answer to the question of JESUS?
The answer �happened� on the THIRD DAY, the RESURRECTION OF JESUS.
By HIS death JESUS �destroyed� the devil, who has the Power over death and in this way
frees humans who were slaves all their lives because of their fear of death. ( Heb.
2:15)
GOD EXALTED JESUS AND GAVE HIM THE NAME WHICH OUTSHINES ALL NAMES, SO THAT AT THE NAME
OF JESUS ALL KNEES SHOULD BEND IN HEAVEN, ON EARTH AND AMONG THE DEAD AND ALL TONGUES
PROCLAIM THAT CHRIST JESUS IS THE LORD, TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER. Phil.2:9-11.
And have been given ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND EARTH. ( Mt. 28:18.)
Didn�t JESUS know the answer?
Of course, HE knew the answer.
JESUS HIMSELF said to HIS Apostles THREE times about HIS sufferings, death on the
cross and HIS resurrection on the THIRD day. (Mt. 16: 21; 17:22,23; 20:17-19.)
Jesus even said to the Jews about HIS Death and Resurrection. (Jn. 2:19-22).
JESUS even after HIS resurrection taught, explained �THE ANSWER� to HIS disciples.
(Lk. 24:25-27.)
�Is it not written that the CHRIST SHOULD SUFFER ALL THESE and THEN ENTER HIS GLORY?�
Lk. 24: 26.
In closing, a suggested PRAYER.
I will PRAY to YOU, LORD:
ANSWER me, GOD at a time YOU CHOOSE.
ANSWER me because of YOUR GREAT LOVE,
Because YOU keep YOUR promise to SAVE.
ANSWER me, LORD, in the GOODNESS of YOUR CONSTANT LOVE;
In YOUR GREAT COMPASSION turn to me!
And hide not THY FACE from thy servant;
For I am in TROUBLE: HEAR me SPEEDILY. Ps. 69: 13, 16, 17.
HEAR me, LORD, when I CALL to YOU!
Be MERCIFUL and ANSWER me! Ps. 27: 7.
