If I remember correctly - the name does actually update but the problem is
with innerHTML (it still gets the old value out). We've discussed ways of
trying to fix this in our cloning code (one place where this is currently an
issue) but haven't hit a solid conclusion yet.

So, yes, the attribute is being updated - just not the "innerHTML"
representation. Silly IE.
