Bind sortStart function to save status and sortEnd function to
restore.

e.g.

var ids = [];

TheTable.tablesorter().bind("sortStart",function(){
// call before sort
$(":checked").each(function(){
ids.push($(this).attr("id"));
});
}).bind("sortEnd",function(){
// call after sort
$("#"+ids.join(",#")).attr("checked","checked");
});
