I've been using .closest() quite a bit... like for checking for
language attributes

    jQuery(element).closest('[lang]').attr('lang');

Automatically scoping .closest() to some implicit context element
(other than <html>) seems like a change that would break tons of code
that handles such use-cases.

However, adding a second context parameter to .closest() sounds like a
great idea IMO.
