@Scott (sorry others for privatising this thread) I advise you to look again in msbuild. It is actually deprecated, but still supported. The usual inital "knee jerk" reaction is just to dump it, it is xml etc .. but it is really simple and really works. I guess this is why it is deprecated ;o)
I would also use it for MSVC. Same as MSVC team does.
