Sorry, your right - it's been so long since I've had dialup and it's
still early on a friday, i didn't do my math right.

Even so, I still stick to my 'magic' number. Our company normally
deals with large images and photos, but I always optimize them as much
as possible (the average 3.7mb photo, I reduced down to 65kb at
800x533) to display on the site - although I provide a link to the
high-res image if required. I've seen plenty sites that don't bother,
and even on broadband the page can take ages to load.

Add on top of this uncompressed, large JS libraries, some sites can
feel like i'm back on a 14.4kb diaup.

500 kilobits ? which means 62.5KB?
or it was 500KB, which will take about 75 secs on a 56k modem?

perhaps 100KB (about 15 secs on 56k modem) is still acceptable ?

Nick
