I'm am currently trying to fix a few bugs with a school website I am helping
to develop. There seems to be a issue with IE6 and the top level of menu
items that causes them to appear vertically instead of horizontally. After
trying a few different things I concluded that the issue was that IE6 wanted
the top level menu items to each have a fixed width, but that doesn't work
since the items have such a varying length. Is there any way around this
bug or am I out of luck.

On a side note, I also noticed the columns don't appear properly on first
load (stacked) in IE6 but after browsing to a different page or refreshing
they move to their proper positions (side-by-side).
