That is strange you can go back. I just tested it on a couple sites with
ThickBox on it and I can't go back. It doesn't add hashes to the url string
even. I'm using FF 3.0.2. What version are you using? I can't seem to get
the back to close the ThickBox on Firefox. If I go back it goes back to the
previous page in all the major browsers, and I couldn't find anything in the
ThickBox code to override the back button.

Are you using a key command or just pressing the button and what version of
FF are you using?
