jQuery is, in my opinion and others, the easiest way to add javascript to your website. jQuery is a flavor of Javascript, much like mootools, prototype and others. One thing that I like about jQuery as opposed to others that it's amazingly easy to implement. I'm a front-end guy at heart, which means my heart thrives in xhtml and css. jQuery seems to be built on the selectors of css, and when you get a look at the way it works and how it does what it does, I'm wishing everything was this easy. For more on that, http://jquery.com/blog/2006/08/20/why-jquerys-philosophy-is-better/ I use jQuery for great but easy-to-implement animations and ajax. I'll admit that I'm not the best at it, but I do love it.
