Sorry that was me, animate is part of jQuery core not UI. Karl posted
a great suggestion though which is similar to the animated scroll
example. You could animate your scroll a set number of pixels and then
just double it when needed. I'm really sorry for the mix up, I always
think of UI when it comes to effects or animations in general.
