gmail has free POP3 service,  load it into email client...save time reviewing, sorting threads etc

in a rather larger pool of potential subjects.
        
30-items is probably fine for users accessing jQuery-UI with dial-up
connections.  We're not in the 1990's anymore, and usere here are
quite likely to be developers with very decent connection speeds, so
serving more data per page just makes sense.
