Another factor: are your tabs containers, or the outer tabs wrapper,
hidden when the call to tab() fires? That might be a no-no. In the
tabs source code I see a few lines containing
... .filter(":hidden")
... .filter(":visible")
... and, well, who knows if that might be a factor too.
